3/25/20 UPDATED GUIDELINES FOR KENTUCKY FUNERAL HOMES
  • All funeral services in Kentucky are limited to the “Closest of Family” with “Private Burials”, each not to exceed 10 individuals total.
  • Funeral homes should be closed to all business except for “at need private services” and to work from home when at all possible.

The Board adopts, promulgates and enforces regulations for the transaction of its business, the management of its affairs, and the promotion of the educational standards of the profession, as it considers expedient and consistent with KRS Chapter 316.

The agency consists of 5 Board members, 2 office staff, and 1 inspector. The Board includes four licensed funeral directors and embalmers and one public (consumer) member. Their objective is to prescribe the standards of efficiency for those who are engaged in the practice of funeral directing and embalming.

The Board is self-supporting through fees assessed for professional licensure. The agency receives no general fund tax appropriation.

Board Meetings
