Welcome to the Board of Embalmers & Funeral Directors
This agency consists of 5 Board members, 3 office staff and 1 inspector. The Board includes four licensed funeral directors and embalmers and one public (consumer) member. Their objective is to prescribe the standards of efficiency for those who are engaged in the practice of funeral directing and embalming.
The Board adopts, promulgates and enforces regulations for the transaction of its business, the management of its affairs, and the promotion of the educational standards of the profession, as it considers expedient and consistent with KRS Chapter 316.
The Board is self-supporting through fees assessed for professional licensure. The agency receives no general fund tax appropriation.

Board Meeting Deadline
The September Board meeting will be at the Crowne Plaza, Louisville, KY. The September Board meeting will be on September 13, 2016. The deadline for this meeting is August 31, 2016.
STATE BOARD EXAM REVIEW is on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Crowne Plaza. Registration is at 8:00 A.M.
If you are wanting to take the exam as a reciprocal you will have to meet with the Board no later than the November 1, 2016 Board meeting.
The apprentice sworn statements and book reports are due November 1, 2016. The body count list on the sworn statement should
cover April 16, 2016 to October 15, 2016. Please make sure the book report meets all requirements and all forms are signed
before mailing the packet in.
